Objective: To observe the clinical effects of treating proplase of cervical intervetebral disc with radiofrequency thermocoagulation and target ablation. Methods: 30 cases of proplase of cervical intervetebral disc patients in our hospital were all treated with radiofrequency thermocoagulation and target ablation. The VAS score and Barthel index were used to evaluate the pain degree and ability of daily life (ADL) of patients respectively before and after treatment; the excellent-effective rate of patients was evaluated 1-month and 3-month after treatment. Results: Compared with that before treatment, the VAS score of 30 patients 1 day, 1 week and 1 month after treatment were all decreased, while the ADL score were all increased (P<0.05). The excellent-effective rate of 30 patients 1 month, 3 months after treatment was respectively 90.0% (27/30) and 93.3% (28/30). Conclusions: Treating proplase of cervical intervetebral disc with radiofrequency thermocoagulation and target ablation can relieve pain and improve the ability of daily life effectively, so has definite curative effects.
