Objective
To investigate the expression and clinicopathological significance of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in gastric cancer tissues.
Methods
The expressions of NF-κB and EGFR in 106 gastric cancer patients and corresponding normal gastric mucosa tissues were compared and analyzed by immunohistochemical method. The correlation between the expression of NF-κB and EGFR in gastric cancer was analyzed, and investigate its relationship with clinical pathology characteristic.
Results
The results showed that the positive expression rate of NF-κB protein in gastric cancer was 67.9%, which was significantly higher than that of the corresponding normal gastric mucosa tissue (5.9%, P<0.05). The positive rates of EGFR expression in gastric cancer tissue and normal mucosal tissue were 65.1% and 2.9%, respectively. The expression of EGFR in gastric cancer tissue was significantly higher than that in normal gastric mucosa tissue (P<0.05). The expression of NF-κB in gastric cancer tissue was significantly positively correlated with the expression of EGFR (r=0.202, P=0.034). The high expression of NF-κB and EGFR in gastric cancer tissues is correlated with the depth of tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, and clinical stage.
Conclusion
The high expression of NF-κB and EGFR in gastric cancer tissues was associated with cancer progression, and their expression was positively correlated, suggesting synergistic effect of NF-κB and EGFR in the development and progression of gastric cancer.

Objective:
To study the expression and clinical significance of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin -12 (IL-12) in invasive pituitary tumors (invasive pituitary adenomas, IPA).
Methods:
Immunohistochemical staining (Max Vision two-step method) was used to detect the expression of TNF-α and IL-12 in 40 cases of IPA and 40 cases of non-IPA tissues.
Results:
The positive expression rate of TNF-α in IPA (65.0%) was remarkably higher than non-IPA tissues, while the positive expression rate of IL-12 (32.5%) was remarkably lower (P<0.05).
Conclusions:
TNF-α and IL-12 may play important role in development of IPA.

Objective:To investigate the changes and clinical significance of serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) level in patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage (HICH). Methods:ELISA was used to detect the serum TNF-α, VEGF and ET-1 level of HICH patients and healthy controls; And the serum TNF-α, VEGF and ET-1 level of HICH patients with different GCS scores were analyzed. Results:The serum TNF-α, VEGF and ET-1 level of HICH patients were significantly higher than healthy controls (P<0.05). Along with decreasing of GCS score in HICH patients, the serum TNF-α, VEGF and ET-1 level gradually increased (P<0.05). Conclusions:Detection of serum TNF-α, VEGF and ET-1 level play important role in diagnosis and prognosis of HICH patients.

Objective:To investigate the expression of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers in colorectal cancer and the relationships with malignancy of colorectal cancer. Methods:SP immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of EMT markers, E-cadherin, β-catenin and Vimentin in 131 cases of colorectal cancer tissues and para-carcinoma tissues. Results:The positive expression rate of E-cadherin and β-catenin in colorectal cancer tissues were significantly lower than para-carcinoma tissues, the positive expression rate of Vimentin was significantly higher (P<0.05). The positive expression rate of E-cadherin and β-catenin in low differentiated colorectal cancer were significantly lower than high-to-middle differentiation, The positive expression rate of Vimentin was significantly higher (P<0.05). Conclusions:EMT is related to development and differentiation of colorectal cancer.
