Objective: To study on the changes of Tpeak-Tend (Tp-Te) interval in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) complicated with ventricular tachycardia, and investigate the potential value of Tp-Te interval changes in diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of AMI complicated with ventricular tachycardia. Methods: 126 acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients were divided into study group (59 patients, AMI patients complicated with ventricular tachycardia) and control group (67 patients, AMI patients without ventricular tachycardia). All the patients were treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) within 12 hours after admission. The electrocardiograph of all the patients were detected before PCI and 7 days after PCI respectively and the Tp-Te interval was calculated, as well as the risk factors of AMI complicated with ventricular tachycardia were analyzed. Results: In acute phase, the Tp-Te interval of patients in study group was obviously longer than patients in control group (P<0.01). The Tp-Te interval of AMI complicated with ventricular tachycardia patients in recovery phase was significantly shorter than the patients in acute phase (P<0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that Tp-Te interval was an independent risk factor for AMI complicated with ventricular tachycardia. Conclusions: Tp-Te interval has potential clinical guiding significance for diagnosis and prognosis of AMI complicated with ventricular tachycardia.
