Objective To study the influence of ginkgo extract on diabetic nephropathy. Methods A total of 80 patients with diabetic nephropathy were randomly divided into two groups. Based on the routine treatment of diabetes, ginkgo extract was added to experimental group. After 12 weeks of treatment, creatinine (CRE), uric acid (UA), urea nitrogen (BUN) and 24h urinary protein (24h Pro) were measured. At the same time, C-reactive protein (CRP), D-dimer (DD), plasma fibrinogen (FIB) and serum homocysteine (HCY) were determined as the basis of efficacy evaluation. Results The values of CRE, 24h proteinuria, DD and CRP in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Ginkgo biloba leaf extract can protect kidney function and improve blood hypercoagulability, which is effective in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy and can be popularized.
