EFFECTS OF TROPOMODULIN1 ON RENAL URINE CONCENTRATION IN MICE

Objective: To analyze the effects of tropomodulin1 (Tmod1) on urine concentration in kidney of mice.
Methods: Tubule-specific Tmod1 knockout mice, Tmod1
flox/flox/Ksp-cre
+ (TFK) and its control mice Tmod1
flox/flox/Ksp-cre
-(TF)were tanken as research object in this study. The urine of mice was collected and the 24-hour urine volume as well as urine osmolality of all the mice were measured at basic state, water deprivation and water loading using metabolic cage system.
Results: At basic state, water deprivation and water loading, the 24-hour urine volume of TFK mice was remarkably lower than TF mice, while the urine osmolality of TFK mice was remarkably higher than TF mice (P<0.05).
Conclusions: Tmod1 may be involved in the process of urine concentration in mice, but the mechanisms need to be further studied.
