Objective To establish an HPLC method for measuring the content of Chaihu saponina, c and d, which is used to compare the differences in the content of wild beichaihu in different origin cultivation areas of Beichaihu and Chengde City, Hebei Province. Methods The content of Chaihu saponin a, c and d in 27 batches of different samples of Beichaihu was determined by high-efficiency liquid chromatography, and the correlationship was analysed. Results The quality of cultivated chaihu was significantly higher than that of wild Chaihu, the highest level of Chaihu saponin a was in Beichahu, Gansu Kang County, and the highest content of Chaihu saponin d was in Beichaihu of Gansu Province, most of which were not detected by the wild beihu saponin c, and the cultivation of beihu saponin c was detected. The color and saponin content of Chaihugen were significantly correlated, the yellow root saponin a, d content was the highest, the black root content was second, and the root color had little effect on the content of Chaihu saponin c. Conclusion The content of artificial cultivation of Beichaihu saponina, c and d is higher than that of wild Chaihu, and it is found that the content of beichaihugen color and saponin content are significantly correlated, which provides theoretical basis for the establishment and evaluation of Chaihu resource utilization and quality analysis methods of medicinal herbs.
