Objective To observe the efficacy of duloxetine combined with Flurbiprofen Cataplasms in the treatment of nonspecific costochondritis. Methods One hundred and twenty patients with nonspecific costal chondritis were selected and divided into group A and group B equally, which is 60 patients in each. Group A was combined with duloxetine and Flurbiprofen cataplasms, while group B was treated with Flurbiprofen cataplasms only. Before treatment and on 1, 3, 7 days after treatment, visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to score the pain degree of the two groups of patients by a professional physician in the double-blind condition, and evaluated the efficacy of two groups 7 days after treatment. Results After treatment 1, 3, and 7 days, the VAS scores of two groups were significantly different from those before treatment in groups (P<0.05). After treatment, 40 cases (66.7%) of patients in group A were cured, 8 cases (20%) were markedly improved, and 2 cases (3.3%) were improved. The cure rate was significantly higher than that in group B, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Duloxetine combined with Flurbiprofen cataplasms can relieve pain symptoms of patients with non-specific costochondritis quickly, and the short-term cure rate is high.
